The TIERS Leadership Program is a bespoke, accelerated 6 month statewide leadership program for senior nurses and midwives.

Program aims

It aims to grow and enhance strategic and operational leadership capability and capacity for individuals to lead confidently and effectively, shape and influence culture, governance, strategy and business operations, by applying and adapting the TIERS Leadership Program learnings within their workplaces to improve patient, team and system outcomes.

TIERS builds leadership capability in the context of political acumen, health economics, communication, values and adaptive leadership styles. It provides nursing and midwifery leaders with the opportunity to challenge their thinking, develop a better understanding of how to lead change more effectively, influence a healthful and productive workplace culture and to navigate the complex health landscape.

Nominations

Nominations to the TIERS Leadership Program is via the Local Health Network Executive Director of Nursing/Midwifery.

Credit arrangement for post graduate study

Subject to completion of the TIERS Leadership Program, students will be granted the following credit towards the Flinders University courses listed below. Credit will consist of one topic specified credit, as below:

  • Master of Health Administration
  • Graduate Diploma in Health Administration
  • Master of Science (Health Administration).

Credit to be awarded:

  • Leading Organisations in Health and Aged Care (HACM9101) - 4.5 units.
