Held on 5 May every year, International Day of the Midwife (IDM) acknowledges the contribution that all midwives make to women, their families and the community.

The Nursing and Midwifery Office holds a range of celebrations across South Australia each year in early May to acknowledge vital role midwives have in the provision of safe, effective and high-quality healthcare for pregnancy, birth and the critical postnatal period.
