Breast and Endocrine Surgery Unit at Flinders Medical Centre

The Flinders Breast and Endocrine Surgery Unit includes:

Flinders Breast Cancer Unit

Patients with breast symptoms will experience a “One Stop Shop” model, where they will be assessed by a surgeon, and will have the necessary imaging and intervention, usually in the same visit. This multidisciplinary unit combines the FMC breast cancer surgeons, radiologists, pathologists and cytologists, and the FMC breast care nurses, in the same clinic, into a comprehensive breast diagnostic and management service.

The surgeons have extensive experience in the management of breast disease and work closely with medical, radiation oncologists, plastic surgeons and psychiatrists who specialise in in their fields within breast cancer.

Clinics run every day, but if urgent advice is required, please contact the clinical fellow or registrar directly through switchboard (08 8204 5511).

Endocrine Surgical Unit

Staff work closely with the FMC Medical Endocrine Service to provide a comprehensive management of thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal surgery. Direct referrals for surgical intervention from general practitioners should be made directly with the Endocrine Surgical Unit.
