Diabetes outpatient service in CALHN
The Central Adelaide Diabetes Service provides inpatient and outpatient services for patients living in Central Adelaide Local Health Network (CALHN) with diabetes. Priority service is provided to:
- Type 1 diabetes, including transitioning from paediatric care
- Complex type 2 diabetes
- Secondary diabetes
- Cystic fibrosis related diabetes*
- Diabetes and renal / lung transplantation
- High risk pre-operative patients with sub-optimal glycaemic control.
*only provided at the Royal Adelaide Hospital.
The Central Adelaide Diabetes Service also provides diabetes education to patients listed above and for newly diagnosed Type 2 Diabetes.
The Central Adelaide Diabetes Service also provides services to patients referred from rural and remote areas, including the Northern Territory, South West New South Wales and the Riverland.
