The Lyell McEwin Hospital Emergency Department employs large numbers of medical staff at various levels, from interns, trainee medical officers and career medical officers to those registered as trainees with the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine and fellows of both the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine and the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.
The department is accredited for 24 months advance training with the Australasian College of Emergency Medicine. We are able to arrange rotations in Intensive Care Unit (ICU), anaesthetics, trauma, medicine, psychiatry, paediatrics and paediatric ICU. Historically we have had a high success rate in both primary and fellowship examinations.
