Kimba Hospital is run by the Eyre and Far North Local Health Network. The hospital has 20 beds, including eight inpatient beds, eight aged care beds, and two Emergency Department beds. The hospital provides a range of services including emergency, general medicine, post-surgical care, basic x-ray, rehabilitation and palliative care.
Kimba Hostel has 11 beds, offering a home-like setting for people with low care needs, adjacent to the hospital.
This is a 24-hour service. When you arrive at the emergency department you will be seen by the duty nurse to collect information and assess your illness or injury.
In a medical emergency, it is important that you do not ‘self present’ to hospital. SA Ambulance Service emergency medical dispatch support officers can provide advanced first-aid advice over the phone while an ambulance is on its way to you.
Kimba has a volunteer ambulance service and access to the Royal Flying Doctor Service.
There is parking onsite, including disabled parking.
The building is wheelchair accessible and there are toilets for people with disability. Please ask at Reception.
General wards: 10:00 am to 8:00 pm.
