Clinical Prioritisation Criteria
The CPC are clinical decision-making tools to ensure patients referred are clinically categorised and accepted based on standard referral criteria.
SA Health offers a wide variety of outpatient services at major hospitals, GP Plus or community based clinics.
Outpatient services are planned procedures, consultations or tests that are carried out by a specialist but do not require an overnight stay. These generally occur in public hospitals.
Outpatient services may include:
- assessments – for example, scans or lab tests
- treatments – for example, day surgery or chemotherapy
- chronic disease management – for example, diabetes monitoring
- prevention and education services – counselling or lifestyle advisors.
