Youth Treatment Orders
Drug dependency can have a devastating impact on young people, their futures and their families, and can have negative impacts on the broader community.
The Government of South Australia has established the Youth Treatment Orders program to help young people and their families address drug dependency through specialised treatment.
The Controlled Substances (Youth Treatment Orders) Amendment Act 2019 passed in Parliament and was assented to on 21 November 2019, coming into operation on 21 November 2021. Responsibility for implementation has been transferred to the Attorney-General's Department.
