TQEH Redevelopment News
Stage 3 of The Queen Elizabeth Hospital (TQEH) redevelopment is underway with more than $314 million invested by the Government of South Australia to deliver a clinical services building. This will ensure the community has access to high-quality healthcare services in a modern hospital setting. It will allow for a selection of services in the existing tower block of the hospital to transition to the state-of-the-art facility.
Already completed redevelopment works include upgraded cardiac catheterisation facilities (completed July 2019) and a new 500 space multi-storey car park for patients and visitors (completed December 2019). The car park is instrumental in freeing up space for the clinical services building as it will be built on the site of the old car park.
The next steps are to finalise the design and submit the project for various approvals that a development as large as this requires, before construction commences in 2021.
