Surgical services returning to the Repat
Demolition works have commenced to make room for the construction of a surgical facility that will see the return of surgical services to the Repat Health Precinct.
The surgical facility is being delivered in partnership with Nexus Hospitals and will increase the surgical capacity for public patients across our health network.
A new multi-deck car park with more than 350 parking spaces will also be built on-site.
Planned surgical services for public patients at the Repat include ophthalmology, orthopaedic, plastics and reconstructive, ear, nose and throat, general surgery, urology and colonoscopy procedures.
The facility will include:
- up to six theatres
- 30-bed overnight capacity
- 20-chair renal dialysis unit
- GP clinic
- community pharmacy
- areas for specialist medical and other allied health services.
The partnership is expected to significantly help reduce waiting lists across the health system and help meet the demand for health care into the future.
Construction of the facility is expected to start in the second half of 2022.
