Lyell McEwin Hospital (LMH) has a long and proud history of volunteering, which stretches right back to the hospital’s beginning in 1959. This passionate and dedicated group of volunteers has evolved into the highly professional Lyell McEwin Regional Volunteer Association, with more than 400 volunteers contributing 90,000 hours of service across 30 hospital and community-based programs each year.
The culture and spirit of volunteering is part of the LMH framework today, with volunteers playing a vital role in the day-to-day running of the hospital, enhancing many of our services and the quality of patient care.
The Northern Adelaide Local Health Network (NALHN) Consumer Advisory Council commenced in 2014 after a successful merger between the respective Consumer Advisory Council’s at Modbury and Lyell McEwin hospitals.
NALHN recognises that improving the way people in the northern region access and interact with health services helps to improve overall health and wellbeing.
There has been a proud history of active consumer engagement and input into decisions about health services at Lyell McEwin Hospital, within NALHN and more broadly in South Australia by individual and collective members from the Consumer Advisory Council.
