Where to get immunised

Immunisation programs

Vaccines recommended for children, adolescents and adults on the National Immunisation Program are available at no cost* for those who hold or are eligible for a Medicare card, through:

  • doctors clinics
  • community health centres
  • local council immunisation clinics
  • Aboriginal health centres.

Newly arrived refugees

Vaccines for newly arrived refugees are available at no cost under the Australian Government Department of Health. Refugees can access the free vaccines through the Newly Arrived Refugee Immunisation Program at the following local councils and health services:

Travel vaccines

Going overseas and need to be immunised? Contact your local doctor or travel vaccination centre to discuss your vaccination requirements.

Occupational vaccines

If you are at a higher risk of coming into contact with specific diseases, contact your local doctor or employer to discuss your vaccination requirements if you are at occupational risk.
