We acknowledge the Kaurna people are the traditional custodians of the Adelaide Plains and pay respects to Elders past, present and future. We recognise and respect their cultural heritage, beliefs and relationship with the land. We acknowledge that they are of continuing importance to the Kaurna people living today.

The team provides services which are culturally appropriate, accessible and responsive to the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who live in the southern region of Adelaide.

Your care

Patient-centred care is at the heart of everything we do at our clinics. We prioritise the individual needs, preferences, diversity and values of each person, ensuring they feel heard, respected, and involved in their healthcare journey.

We take the time to listen to concerns, answer questions thoroughly and provide clear explanations about a diagnosis and treatment options. We actively engage clients in decisions regarding their care so that they can make informed choices that align with their goals, values and cultural wishes.

Through personalised attention, comprehensive support, and a commitment to excellence, we strive to create a healing environment where every client feels valued and supported on their path to wellness.

Our staff

Clients are seen and assessed by dedicated Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal multi-disciplinary qualified health worker teams. All staff engage in continuing professional development and training relevant to SA Health, SALHN and their profession. This includes cultural awareness training.

Aboriginal Health Practitioners

Our Aboriginal Health Practitioners are central to the care provided at the clinics. They have primary responsibility for well health checks. Their cultural brokerage plays an important role in improving communication for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients.

They assist doctors (GPs and visiting specialists) and nurses to better understand and respond to clients’ concerns, and help clients to better manage their health.

Registered Nurses

Our registered nurses assist in providing holistic care by the coordination of chronic disease management and health care plans, medicine administration, well health checks and client education. The nursing staff work closely with the GPs and Aboriginal Health Practitioners in providing access to timely culturally holistic care.

General Practitioners (GPs)

Our GPs all have postgraduate qualifications through the Royal Australian College of GPs and have extensive experience working with Aboriginal communities. Two of our GPs are Aboriginal.

Individual GPs are also accredited to provide shared obstetric (antenatal) care and long-acting contraception support such as Implanon and intra-uterine device insertions and removals. They are also committed to supporting the Aboriginal Health education of doctors who are undergoing postgraduate training in General Practice.
