Riverland General Hospital has a resident gynaecologist and birthing suites are available.
A community clinic assists women with care and treatment before, during and after childbirth.
Chemotherapy services

The Riverland General Hospital has a chemotherapy unit with four chemotherapy chairs with trained and accredited Registered Nurses to provide chemotherapy treatment and other cancer services, including infusions.
Riverland General Hospital Chemotherapy Unit Services include:
- coordination of your cancer care which can help you navigate the health system
- low risk chemotherapy treatment including oral chemotherapy and intravenous infusion treatments in the chemotherapy unit or via slow release pumps
- access to Digital Telehealth Network equipment so you can have follow-up appointments with your oncologist reducing the need to travel
- non-chemotherapy infusion centre services including pump disconnects, PICC and port flushes.

Renal Dialysis Unit

The Riverland General Hospital provides haemodialysis within the region. People who meet the criteria are able to dialyse within the hospital as an alternative to dialysing at home. A service is also available for holiday visitors to the region who require dialysis. Visitor services are available out of hours if needed.
Stroke services
The Riverland General Hospital is one of three stroke services in country South Australia, providing specialised treatment for suitable stroke patients 24 hours a day, seven days a week, supported by metropolitan stroke units.
Clinicians located at country hospitals will be able to call or videoconference with a neurologist at the Royal Adelaide Hospital 24/7, enabling faster and more accurate decision making.
SA Ambulance Service will continue to ensure that stroke patients are taken directly to a metropolitan stroke unit hospital or country stroke service where possible.
Ambulance staff will notify the hospital about the patient’s arrival in advance, so that hospital staff are ready for the arrival and immediate assessment of the stroke patient.

Entry to medical imaging (radiology) is via the hospitals main entrance on Maddern Street
The majority of medical imaging services are provided at the hospital by SA Medical Imaging. The service is a bulk-billing system and there may be some out of pocket costs for after-hours services.

SA Pathology services are offered to the public 6 days per week.
Located on the grounds of the Riverland General Hospital in a separate building. Entry is via the Maddern Street Hospital entrance and follow the SA pathology signs to the right. On-site reserved parking is available next to the laboratory.

The Riverland Community Health Service provides a range of services and programs from five sites in the Riverland:
- Berri
- Loxton
- Barmera
- Renmark
- Waikerie.
