Obstetric services update
From 5 March 2018, birthing services will no longer operate from Tanunda War Memorial Hospital.
A General Practitioner (GP) shared care model for maternity and obstetric care is being implemented in the Barossa. Under the new model, women can continue to access community midwifery support in the Barossa, including ante-natal and post-natal care, with birthing available at nearby Gawler Health Service or Kapunda Hospital.
The changes are being implemented to ensure women can give birth at a facility with the available staff and resources required to provide the highest level of care.
