Withdrawal/recovery symptoms
Withdrawal is the body's response to getting rid of its dependence on nicotine. Some people prefer to give withdrawal symptoms a more positive spin by calling them ‘recovery symptoms’. For information about how to cope with them, visit the I want to stay quit — Tips for the tough times page.
Cravings
Even when you are no longer smoking, your body may crave a cigarette, particularly in situations where you used to smoke. For more information about dealing with cravings, see Coping with cravings.
