Food Act Reports
The Minister for Health is responsible for effective administration of the Food Act, via the Department for Health and Wellbeing. Other responsibilities contained in the Food Act and Food Regulations are delegated to enforcement agencies including municipal and district councils and relevant subsidiaries.
The information that is assembled in the Food Act Report is an up to date account of how the Department and other enforcement agencies undertake their responsibilities to ensure that the objectives of the Food Act are achieved. It also provides a summary of state and national initiatives to manage food safety as well as the outcome of foodborne illness investigations and details of food surveys undertaken throughout the year.
