Scope
The Research Domain encompasses the areas of research governance and ethics which support the conduct of research across SA Health.
Purpose
The purpose of this Domain is to:
- Ensure there is a consistent system-wide approach to research activity across SA Health.
- Ensure there is awareness of the requirements and processes in place for research activity across SA Health.
- Ensure research conducted within SA Health by staff or external researchers is of a high standard and observes all governance and ethical requirements.
- Ensure research conducted within SA Health complies with agreed best practice research standards, and relevant legislative, policy and operational requirements.
Principles

- We focus our investment on research that informs the development of SA Health programs and policy, and contributes to maintaining and improving the health and wellbeing of South Australians.
- We adhere to all governance and ethical requirements relating to any research conducted within SA Health.
- We align our research activities with agreed best practice research standards and relevant legislative, policy and operational requirements.
