Chief Child Protection Officer
Catherine Turnbull is the inaugural SA Health Chief Child Protection Officer. The role of Chief Child Protection Officer was established in May 2021 to:
- lead initiatives to reform child protection governance across SA Health
- facilitate a co-design process to develop a statewide model of care for SA Health’s Child Protection Services operating across the Local Health Networks
- represent SA Health in strengthening relationships with partner agencies within South Australia’s broader child protection system
- develop, monitor, review and update SA Health policies relating to children and child protection
- provide strategic advice on child protection matters and promote the best interests of children and families across SA Health.
