Port Pirie Regional Health Service provides a comprehensive range of medical and surgical services to patients from Port Pirie and surrounding communities throughout the Southern Flinders and Mid North.
Patients may commence their stay at Port Pirie Regional Health Service but finish their care at one of the neighbouring hospitals with specialist medical or allied health input when required. All hospitals in the region work collaboratively to support the patient care needs.

When you arrive at the Port Pirie Regional Health Service accident and emergency service, you will be seen by a nurse to collect information and assess your illness or injury prior to seeing a doctor.
A dedicated emergency doctor is now available 24/7 at Port Pirie to help meet the growing demand for emergency medical services.
This interim locum staffing arrangement will be in place while we develop a sustainable medical workforce model.
GPs in Port Pirie will continue to play a critical role at the hospital. They will continue to admit their own patients as required, and continue to provide inpatient services to the hospital.
This new arrangement will ensure we continue to provide quality health care to the Port Pirie community.

Bedside computers have now been installed and are fully operational for patient entertainment in 12 hospitals including Whyalla Hospital and Health Service.
The bedside entertainment services are provided by Telstra and give patients access to a number of different entertainment options on a pre-paid basis for public patients.Private patients will receive this service free of charge.

Parking is available at the front of the hospital with additional parking available on Alexander Street. There is also disabled parking on site.
