Jamestown Hospital and Health Service provides acute services ranging from in-hospital care for adults and children by local general practitioners to outpatients and aged care beds.

Patients may commence their stay at Jamestown Hospital and Health Service but finish their care at one of the neighbouring hospitals with specialist medical or allied health input when required. All hospitals in the region work collaboratively to support the patient care needs.

Opening times: All days 8:30am-4:00pm

Please phone the Goyder's Line Medical Centre on 8664 1078 for a phone assessment.

If you meet the testing criteria, we will ask you to phone the Jamestown Hospital on 8664 1406 to book an appointment to undergo testing.

When you present for your appointment at Jamestown Hospital please follow the signage at the front door and ring the bell to notify staff of your arrival. You will be directed to the back of the hospital past the ambulance ramp to the 2nd ramp. You will be assessed by a nurse when you present for your appointment.

Theatre upgrade

The Jamestown Hospital theatre has been upgraded, to provide a modern space for patients requiring surgery in the Yorke and Northern region.

Upgrades to the theatre included:

  • interior refurbishment including new wall surfaces, floor coverings and door frames

  • relocation of scope sterilizing processing including new stainless steel benches

  • new waiting room and pre-operative areas

  • upgrade to the existing scrub area

  • new stainless steel storage racks.

Accident and emergency services

In a medical emergency phone 000 and await ambulance attendance. 

When you arrive at the Jamestown Hospital and Health Service accident and emergency service, you will be seen by a nurse to collect information and assess your illness or injury prior to seeing a doctor.

Mental health emergencies

If you are experiencing a mental health emergency you can present to the accident and emergency service at Jamestown Hospital and Health Service.

Alternatively, telephone Rural and Remote Mental Health Service on 13 14 65 for mental health counselling, support and information 24 hours, 7 days.

Car parking

Parking is available at the front of the hospital off of South Terrace. There is also disabled parking on site.
