Clare Hospital provides a comprehensive range of medical and surgical services to patients from Clare and surrounding communities including the Lower and Mid North areas.

Patients may commence their stay at Clare Hospital but finish their care at one of the neighbouring Hospitals with specialist medical or allied health input when required. All hospitals in the region work collaboratively to support the patient care needs.

Accident and emergencies services

When you arrive at the Clare Hospital accident and emergency service, you will be seen by a nurse to collect information and assess your illness or injury prior to seeing a doctor.

Your attendance may incur a fee

This Hospital is supported by Private Practice Doctors. All patients treated by a Doctor in the Outpatient or Emergency Department (all non-admitted patients) will be treated as Private General Practice Patients and therefore may be charged.

The account will come direct from Clare Medical Centre or Victoria Road Medical Centre. Please contact the medical practice for more information.

Mental health emergencies

If you are experiencing a mental health emergency you can present to the accident and emergency service at Clare Hospital. 

Alternatively telephone Rural and Remote Mental Health Service on 13 14 65 for mental health counselling, support and information. 24 hours, 7 days.

Visiting hours

Visitors play an important part in any patient’s hospital stay, and visitors are welcome.

Visiting hours for all wards are 12.00pm  8.00pm.

Any visitors who are required to be in the hospital building outside these hours will need to register at the admissions desk and receive an identity badge.

Car parking

Parking is available at the front of the hospital off of Farrell Flat Road. There is also disabled parking on site.

Clare Hospital has full disability access. If you have special needs and are unsure, please contact reception who will assist you with your specific enquiry.
