Accident and emergency services

Services are provided 24 hours a day, seven days per week.

Hospital services

General medical care includes:

  • aged residential care
  • day therapy centres
  • delivered meals (meals on wheels)
  • diagnostic radiology/xray/CT/fluoroscopy
  • inpatient
  • outpatients
  • renal dialysis chairs
  • same day stays.

Renal Dialysis Service

The Renal Dialysis Service operates six days per week as service demands.

Residential aged care

Central Yorke Peninsula Hospital (Maitland) provides aged care facilities at the hospital for older people in need of high-level care.

Aboriginal health team

Home And Community Care (HACC) and Community Aged Care packages are provided to Aboriginal people in the community to assist with home care and support, personal care assistance and home-delivered meals to enable older people to remain living at home. Narungga Elder Care covers the whole Yorke Peninsula with clients currently living in:

  • Port Victoria
  • Point Pearce
  • Maitland
  • Moonta
  • Wallaroo.

These services are provided through three sites:

The Aboriginal health team works with local Aboriginal communities to improve their health and wellbeing. They advise, inform and refer to mainstream services. 

Services provided by the Aboriginal health team include:

  • health screening
  • diabetes care
  • counselling
  • assist health workers to understand the needs and culture of the Aboriginal community.
