Accident and emergency

The 24-hour emergency service is staffed by a registered nurse who offers assessment and treatment, and a doctor is available on call. Kimba has a volunteer ambulance service and access to the Royal Flying Doctor Service.

Emergency after hours advice is available via Healthdirect or by contacting the hospital.

Medical and surgical hospital services 

Services include:

  • general medical care
  • post-surgical care

  • basic x-ray.

There are birthing facilities at Port Lincoln, Port Augusta and Whyalla, and we are able to provide post-natal care.

Kimba Pioneer Memorial Hostel provides low to medium level residential care for older people in a home-like environment. Higher level care is provided at the hospital, adjacent to Kimba Pioneer Memorial Hostel. Respite care is available at the hostel and hospital.
