Spinal Cord Injury Clinic at Noarlunga Hospital

The Spinal Cord Injury Clinic is an outreach clinic of the South Australian Spinal Cord Injury Service (SASCIS) based at Hampstead Rehabilitation Centre.

The clinic offers medical review appointments for people living in the community with spinal cord injury or disease.

The clinic is led by a rehabilitation physician or advanced trainee who may be accompanied by a spinal cord injury specialist nurse.

Specialist intervention is provided with the aim of promoting health maintenance, self-management, prevention and management of health issues associated with a spinal cord injury.

Referrals

Must be and existing client of the SA Spinal Cord Injury Service. SASCIS provides specialist rehabilitation for adults who have sustained neurological impairment due to spinal cord or cauda equina injury from traumatic and non-traumatic causes.

Referral via SASCIS OPD. If an inpatient rehabilitation program (DOC 180KB) is required please use the SASCIS inpatient referral form (PDF 118KB) and send to Hampstead Rehabilitation Centre, fax: 8222 1464.

Initial assessments (new referrals) are usually conducted at Hampstead Rehabilitation Centre.
