COVID-19 Visitor Guidelines at LMH for maternity services
At the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network (NALHN) the health and wellbeing of the birthing family and their newborn baby is of paramount importance, so we are doing everything we can to ensure their safety.
All women birthing at the Lyell McEwin Hospital can rest assured that:
- You will not be alone during your labour; your support person can be present for the duration of labour and birth of your baby.
- Your chosen support person can be present for the induction of the labour process.
- Parents can visit their newborn baby every day while they are in our care.
Visitor guidelines
Currently the following visiting arrangements are in place for NALHN’s Women and Children’s services:
Outpatient Services
- One support person can be present.
Women’s Assessment
- One support person can be present.
Birthing Suite
- Two dedicated people during labour, birth and postnatal.
Women’s Health Unit
- Two people can visit during normal visiting hours
Special Care Nursery
- A maximum of two adults (parental/guardian) can visit per day.
