Where to get immunised

Immunisation programs

The vaccines recommended under government-funded immunisation programs are free for people who have (or are eligible for) a Medicare card. Some immunisation providers may charge for their service, so ask about any fees when making an appointment to get immunised at:

Newly arrived refugees

Vaccines for newly arrived refugees are funded by the Australian Government Department of Health. Refugees can access the free vaccines through the Newly Arrived Refugee Immunisation Program at the following local councils and health services:

Travel vaccines

Going overseas and need to be immunised? Contact your local doctor or travel vaccination centre or community pharmacy to discuss your vaccination requirements.

If you are at a higher risk of coming into contact with specific diseases, contact your local doctor or employer to discuss your vaccination requirements if you are at occupational risk.
