SA Health is committed to partnering with culture and linguistically diverse (CALD) community groups to better understand CALD needs in health care.

SA Health encourage the CALD consumers to provide feedback through the Your feedback is Important (PDF 158KB) to enable consumers from the CALD community to feedback on their health care experience, including care and treatment, decision-making, access to interpreters, whether cultural needs were respected. Feedback provides SA Health with a better understanding of the health care needs of the CALD community.

The Do you need an interpreter? posters were developed to assist healthcare staff in identifying languages/dialects of consumers requiring an interpreter.

Charter of Rights

Translated versions of the HCSCC Charter of Healthcare Rights is available on the Health and Community Services Complaints Commissioner website.

Your rights and responsibilities

Your rights and responsibilities booklet provides general information about rights as a consumer of health services, including right to information, consent to treatment, confidentiality of personal health information and appropriate care

The booklet is available in 15 community languages.

Community languages – cue cards

Eastern Health has developed cue cards in community languages to assist in communication.
