Better Placed
From July 2023, the Clinical Placement for Student Health Professionals Policy (PDF 223KB) is in place, which outlines mandatory requirements for education providers and clinical supervisors and educators to facilitate student clinical placements.
The SA Health Clinical Placement Coordination Team, Better Placed, in conjunction with Local Health Networks (LHN) and statewide services, work closely together with education and training providers to facilitate the centrally coordinated administration of placements.
Health education for the future
The South Australian Better Placed approach ensures strong and healthy relationships between health services and education providers, resulting in strong statewide partnerships now and into the future.
Better Placed focuses on providing students with the best possible learning opportunities so that they become highly competent and flexible clinicians, who will in turn educate and support the next generation of health care professionals.
To support this, the Better Placed: Health Education for the Future Framework 2025-2027 (PDF 706KB) sets out the activities and direction going forward for the clinical education and training of students in the South Australian public health system.
The aim is to ensure students have high-quality and supported clinical experiences that prepare them for healthcare practice.
