Cadetship
Country Enrolled Nursing Cadetship Program
SA Health offers a Country Enrolled Nursing Cadetship Program which provides paid employment and training opportunity for people seeking to become Enrolled Nurses.
The key focus of the program is to:
- Strengthen primary health care
- Enhance hospital care
- Reform mental health care
- Improve the health of Aboriginal people.
Peoples from Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply to the CHSA Assistant in Nursing Enrolled Nurse Cadetship Program.
Lyell McEwin Hospital Aboriginal Nursing Cadetship Program
The Lyell McEwin Hospital, that forms a part of the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network (NALHN), has an established Aboriginal Nursing Cadetship Program which currently employs and assists over 20 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. The program has been expanded to include:
- Enrolled Nurse Diploma Cadetships
- Bachelor of Nursing Cadetships
- Bachelor of Midwifery Cadetships.
The Aboriginal Nursing Cadetship Program gives peoples of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander background an inspiring opportunity to start or further a career in health care.
Scholarships
Aboriginal Health Scholarship program
The Department for Health and Ageing offers an Aboriginal Health Scholarship program that is co-funded with Australian Rotary Health. It is designed to increase the number of professionally qualified Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples working in the South Australian Public Health Sector.
Country Health SA Local Health Network Undergraduate Scholarships
Country Health SA Local Health Network (CHSALHN) Scholarships (CHSALHN) award scholarships for a number of disciplines including nursing and midwifery.
The broad range of scholarships available is a reflection of the strong commitment to provide high quality health care in rural and remote South Australia to meet the needs of residents living in country areas. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples from country South Australia are encouraged to apply.
Australian College of Nursing
The Australian College of Nursing (ACN) administers a number of scholarships funded by the Australian Government; Department of Health and Department of Social Services.
You do not need to be a member of the ACN to apply for these scholarships.
