Trainee Medical Officers

Trainee Medical Officers (TMOs) are offered rotations at SALHN’s three acute sites. The selection of rotations and locations allows TMO’s to develop and strengthen their knowledge and skills.

TMOs are well supported and supervised at SALHN. As a SALHN TMO you will be provided excellent tutorial programs, pastoral care and support.

Allocations of rotations are in consultation with the Consultant and TMOs, and consideration is given to training needs. TMOs should expect a well-balanced year, great learning opportunities and rotations across various specialities.

Rostered hours will vary within different units/divisions. However, on average TMOs are expected to work 40-45 hours per week, with most rosters over seven days. TMOs are paid for hours worked.
