Key benefits

TPPPs employed within the LCLHN are supported by a dedicated Nursing and Midwifery Education Team and nursing and midwifery staff across the LCLHN, who work side-by-side with our graduates to ensure they have an amazing start to their career.

Our TPPP is designed to equip graduate nurses with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to provide safe, timely, effective, and person-centred care.

Participants will be based in one of our seven health services with opportunities to undertake a rotation at another facility within the region. Graduates based in Mount Gambier may be required to undertake an offsite rotation as part of the program.

During each rotation, graduates are supported by clinical experts including Nurse Educators, Clinical Facilitators, and ward-based Preceptors. The program is underpinned by a structured study day program, state-wide learning modules and debriefing sessions that focus on clinical decision-making, patient management and professional practice.

The Clinical Education Team is based across the LCLHN and has an open-door policy where graduates are welcomed to discuss any issues or concerns. All graduates undertake confidential appraisals at the beginning of each rotation to provide opportunities for graduates to ask for advice/support, discuss career pathways and provide feedback about their training experience.

Being a member of a smaller cohort of graduates, you will have access to individual support from the Clinical Education Team and will also develop close working relationships with all levels of staff within the multidisciplinary team.

Surrounded by a world class wine region, open space and some of South Australia’s best coastline, the Limestone Coast offers a work-life balance like no other for individuals and families. With access to safe beaches, excellent recreational fishing, sailing and surf, as well as outstanding national parks, outdoor spaces, and sporting and recreational facilities, the Limestone Coast has something for everyone.

The Limestone Coast offers opportunities to advance your nursing career in areas such as aged care, general medical/surgical nursing, perioperative, paediatrics, renal dialysis, high dependency and emergency nursing. A TPPP with the LCLHN will provide you with skills, knowledge and experience that is highly sought after in the healthcare industry. Graduates are encouraged and supported to gain future employment within the nursing workforce that aligns with their career aspirations.
