In this first edition of the LCLHN Community Update newsletter we shine a light on Leesher Schultz, one of our consumer representatives, provide an overview of our local HAC’s and look back at this year’s COVID-19 journey.
In this newsletter, you’ll find stories including local sisters Cheyenne and Gabrielle Smith who have qualified through the Nursing Cadetship, winners and finalists in our LCLHN Staff Awards, a focus on the Millicent and District Hospital and Health Service and an interview with Barrie Moyle, the Presiding Member for the Naracoorte and Area Health Advisory Council.
It’s important that we have consumers, carers, and community members involved when building our health services to serve and benefit all.
We’re currently seeking consumer, carer, and community representatives to join a range of Aged Care specific Committees and be part of designing how we deliver our services, evaluation, and key performance monitoring and improvements.
We are seeking a Residential Aged Care representative and a Community Aged Care representative for each of the below Committees / Sub-Committees / Working Parties:

Under the Health Care Act, the LCLHN Governing Board has developed the Consumer, Carer and Community Engagement Strategy 2021-2024.
The LCLHN aims to be an effective and forward-thinking health network that anticipates challenges, embraces change and most importantly, meets the needs of our consumers, carers and community.
The Consumer, Carer and Community Engagement Strategy 2021-2024 demonstrates our commitment to partnering with consumers, carers and the community in the planning, design and delivery of our services.
As part of this, we recognise the diversity within our region, whether within our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander population, our Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) communities or in analysing the differing chronic healthcare conditions experienced by many within our community.
This strategy operates alongside the Clinician and Staff Engagement Strategy 2021-2024 and forms a critical part of the LCLHN’s strategic direction over the coming years in line with the LCLHN Strategic Plan 2021 – 2025.
