Expression of Interest for FUNLHN Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Artist

Flinders and Upper North Local Health Network (FUNLHN) provide health services to communities throughout Port Augusta, Whyalla, Roxby Downs, Quorn, Hawker, Leigh Creek and surrounding areas. The FUNLHN Aboriginal Health Unit are seeking Expression of Interest for a local Aboriginal artist to design a piece of artwork to be included in relevant publications.

The publications include our Aboriginal Health plans, region-wide publications, uniforms, lanyards, and stationery. Artwork will also be applied across digital platforms e.g., social media and electronic documents.

Requirements

  • Artwork to relate to the community and encompass health and healing for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
  • The artist must be willing to work with FUNLHN Aboriginal Health Unit, design team and graphic designer.
  • The artist must also provide:
    • a short paragraph of the vision for your artwork, including colours and styles.
    • images of previous artwork (up to 3 pieces)
    • concept designs along with a supporting statement/story.
    • a quote for a canvas 100cm x 75cm (40” x 30”).

Selection Criteria

  • The artwork will be selected by a panel of SA Health Aboriginal staff across various FUNLHN sites.

After filling in and submitting the online form, please email all other documentation that addresses the requirements section above to Health.FUNLHNAboriginalHealthUnit@sa.gov.au.

Payment

  • Artist will be remunerated with a negotiated price for the development of their concept.

  • Notification of successful artist: Friday 2 February 2024
