Residents in the Riverland Murray Mallee area have access to a wide range of health care services in a number of locations throughout the region.
These services include accident and emergency, day and inpatient surgery, Aboriginal Health, obstetric services, community health and aged care services.
The main health hubs for the area are located in Berri and Murray Bridge with other facilities located nearby.
In March, the Riverland Mallee Coorong Local Health Network (RMCLHN) temporarily closed a number of Country Health Connect group services.
This decision was made to help stop the spread of the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) to vulnerable community health clients, particularly older people.
COVID-19 is a respiratory illness caused by a new virus. Symptoms range from a mild cough to pneumonia. Some people recover easily, while others may get very sick, very quickly. There is evidence that it spreads from person to person.
We are pleased to announce that we are now reopening a number of these group services in line with the South Australian Roadmap for Easing COVID-19 restrictions.
The reopened group services will be modified to comply with current restrictions and guidelines to ensure the safety of our consumers. For example, people attending group services will be required to observe physical distancing, and we may have fewer people attend services if required.
Current consumers will be contacted from Monday 11 May 2020 onwards by Country Health Connect staff to schedule attendance at upcoming group sessions.
