One of the main tasks of the SA Cervix Screening Program (SACSP) is to encourage women to have a Cervical Screening Test every five years in line with the updated national policy. We target the general population of women, with particular emphasis on women who are over 50 years, Aboriginal women, women who live in an area where very few women get screened and women from non-English speaking backgrounds.
In recognition that Aboriginal women often have poorer health than non Aboriginal women, SACSP has a specific team working with Aboriginal communities across SA to promote Well Women's Screening Checks.
We inform the National Cancer Screening Register, which is a central database that contains a woman’s history of Cervical Screening Tests and other cancer related test results in Australia.
The National Cancer Screening Registry ensures consistent data collection across Australia for all cancer screening.
For more information about the Registry, visit the National Cancer Screening Register web page.
From December 1, if you need to update your contact details or find out when you’re due for your next Cervical Screening Test please contact the National Cancer Screening Register contact centre on 1800 627 701.
For information on where to get your Cervical Screening Test, please see the Women's Health section of this site as SA Cervix Screening Program do not provide clinic services.
